KVD Beauty – Rebranding
KVD “Value, Truth, Beauty”
These are referred to as “legacy initials,” according to cosmeticsbusiness.com. The creative development team took inspiration from my favorite dead language, Latin. For this rebrand, the company is saying the meaning behind KVD is for ‘Kara, Veritas, Decora.’ The translation is, “Value, Truth, Beauty.”
Cruelty-free
In recent years, there has been a growing trend toward cruelty-free makeup products. These are products that have not been tested on animals and do not contain any animal-derived ingredients. Cruelty-free makeup brands have gained popularity as consumers have become more conscious about the impact of their choices on animals and the environment.
One such cruelty-free makeup brand is Kat Von D Beauty. Founded by the famous tattoo artist and TV personality Kat Von D, this brand is committed to creating high-quality, vegan makeup products that are both beautiful and ethical. The brand’s slogan, “Beauty that is beyond cruelty”, reflects its philosophy of never testing on animals or using animal-derived ingredients.
KVD Beauty’s consistent commitment to cruelty-free and vegan products has earned it a loyal following among consumers who care about the impact of their choices on animals and the environment. By choosing this brand, you can be confident that you are supporting a company that is committed to ethical and sustainable practices, without compromising on quality or performance.
Popular Products
Kat Von D Beauty’s range of products includes everything from foundations and concealers to eyeliners and lipsticks. All of the products are vegan, which means they do not contain any animal-derived ingredients such as beeswax or carmine, a red pigment that is derived from crushed beetles. The brand is also committed to using sustainable and eco-friendly packaging materials whenever possible.
One of the brand’s most popular products is the Lock-It Foundation, which provides full coverage and comes in 40 different shades. The foundation is made with a blend of plant-based ingredients, such as sunflower seed oil and rosehip seed oil, which help to moisturize and nourish the skin. It is also long-lasting and transfer-resistant, which makes it perfect for all-day wear.
Another popular product is the Tattoo Liner, which is an award-winning liquid eyeliner that comes in a range of shades, including black, brown, and blue. The liner has a fine, flexible tip that makes it easy to apply and create a precise line. It is also waterproof and smudge-proof. I can attest that this liner will stay in place all day and while at the pool.
Kat Von D Beauty is a makeup brand that is not only committed to creating high-quality, cruelty-free, and vegan makeup products but also to reduce its environmental impact. One way the brand has achieved this is by using sustainable and eco-friendly packaging materials.
Environmentally Friendly
The brand recognizes that packaging is a significant source of waste in the beauty industry, and they are committed to reducing their environmental footprint by using materials that are eco-friendly and recyclable. For instance, they have replaced their traditional plastic packaging with paper and metal tubes for some of their products, such as the Studded Kiss Lipstick.
The brand has also introduced refillable products, such as the Lock-It Powder Foundation and Shade + Light Contour Palette, which allow customers to reuse the same packaging multiple times. By refilling the products, customers can reduce their waste and save money in the long run.

Refillable?
Leave a comment about your opinions on refillable products.
Do you have any?
Refillable options for the cologne/perfume industry are becoming more available, but it seems to me that they haven’t been able to successfully do it over a long period of time.
Would you pay more for sustainable products?
