Long Time No See…

“I like to make the best of what I have. I’m not a supermodel, clearly. I’m not a makeup artist. I’m a real woman.” Victoria Beckham

Hello Beauties,

I am sorry that I have not been able to put out a post in a while. I will be able to post regularly once finals are over (please send good luck). I have been very busy with projects, tests, and essays. The positive is that I only have two more weeks left. What has been getting me through is the haul that I posted about in my last blog post.

The pictures above are from formal. I will say that I was so nervous for the dance that I wiped off my makeup at least 3 times before I was finally happy. Practice makes perfect. Anxiety makes for a shakey winged eyeliner. The makeup that I used consisted of mostly E.l.f. and Colourpop items. My false lashes were from Amazon. I want to talk about these lashes for a minute. I hate spending money on lashes. I think it is kind of ridiculous to spend 5 to 10 dollars on lashes. I think this is a great deal for lashes because they come in a variety of shapes. If you do the math, each pair of lashes is a little less than 26 cents. You can reuse them multiple times, but for hygienic purposes, I throw them away. They are easy to bend to your eye shape and help complete any makeup look. I’ve had my set of 80 lashes for over a year and have not used them all. I do not wear lashes every day, but if you are someone that does then I would suggest buying this set.

I used a wet n wild contour and concealer from the dollar store. I used simple nude shades from an E.L.F. palette. This palette has colors for every occasion and is easy to carry. I absolutely adore it. I did use an elf shadow lock, which I always use because it is essential for keeping eyeshadow in place and showing pigment. I made sure all of my foundation was mattified with a powder to set my face. I used my favorite highlighter from Colourpop called “Lunch Money,” to bring out all of the gold accents that I was trying to incorporate (with jewelry and the buckle on my shoes). The color on my lips was “echo park” (my favorite liquid lipstick) from Colourpop. I added a plumping gloss over the lipstick from E.L.F. called “champagne.”

For this glam look, I bought a mermaid dress with shoulder sleeves for $20 dress at Forever 21.

Glamour does not have to break your bank. You can use whatever nude shadows and foundation that works with your skin, just practice blending and technique with brushes.

I will be posting again soon about acrylic nails.

Stay beautiful.
