How To Achieve This Elegant Look…

“Honey, I am going to my grave with my eyelashes and my makeup on.”

– Tammy Faye Bakker

I really love doing this elegant look, and it can be done with inexpensive products.

First in my makeup routine, I apply a little bit of coconut oil to my face and Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer.

After the moisturizer and oil has set in for a few minutes, I go to work on my eyes. I start by applying an eye primer and concealer duo from E.l.f. Then, I take a wet beauty blender and pat that onto my eyelid for a blended base. Next, take my blending brush from the Colourpop palette “Cute Af” (which I am unable to find on their website, so any dark brown color should work). I tap off the excess of the shadow and apply it into the crease of my eye (with short back and forth movements). I bend this color in towards my eyelid. After I do this for both eyes, I put a little extra brown in the crease for a darker look. Then, I take my concealer stick from Wet n Wild and apply it to a concealer brush. I drag the concealer brush gently from the inner corner of my eye to the middle of my eyelid. I thoroughly pat the concealer on my eye and take an eye shadow brush to the gold color of the “Cute Af” palette (Any gold color eye shadow will suffice). I pack this color onto the parts of the eye that I have concealer on, and then add the lightest neutral color over top of this gold to give it a more muted look. I drag my eyeliner marker along my top lash line to the edge of my eye and meet it with a line from the bottom lash line. I extend the line from the bottom lash out and make a point going down to meet line from the top lash line.

I apply my lashes with my preferred eyelash glue and lashes that I ordered cheaply from Amazon.com. I bend the lashes and cut them to fit my eye shape. I apply my Clinique mascara to blend my eyelashes in with the fake ones.

Pro tip: Most people do their foundation first, but I do mine after I do my eyes because I usually need my hand to steady on my face to do my winged eyeliner, which always disrupts the foundation in the process if I apply it first.

Next, I apply a dime size amount of foundation to the fatter part of the beauty blender. I dot the foundation around my face and apply the foundation going down my face. Then, I apply concealer under my eyes and down the bridge of my nose with the concealer stick and blend it in with a wet beauty blender. Next, I use a contour stick (from Wet n Wild but any kind works) down my cheekbones with a dry beauty blend, but then I blend it in with a wet beauty blender.

Finally, I apply powders to finish the look. I use skin pressed powder under my cheek bones and eyes to set the makeup. I use bronzer over top of my contour to darken it. I use a Colourpop highlighter called “Lunch Money” on the highlights of my face.

Lastly, I apply the Colourpop lipstick called “Times Square.”

That is the completed look.

It only takes about 30 minutes.

I really appreciate that you put alternatives to the specific eyeshadows you used. I have a bunch of random eyeshadows, so that helped! I’m trying to improve my makeup skills, so I’m definitely going to try this look out! Great job!

I love this look! Please teach me how to properly do a cat eye because mine always turn out awesome on one eye and crooked on the other. I’d love to see a five minute make up routine and how to do it well (I never have the patience to put 30 minutes into my make up).

I’ll absolutely publish a video sometime soon of me doing mine, so you can see my exact technique. Some days differ with how well I do it on the first shot. If I didn’t get enough sleep or had too much caffeine, then my lines get a little messed up because of a wobbly hand.

Hey Hun! You do a wonderful job explaining the product, but I was just curious on the price ranges of these products and also if they are animal tested or anything like that?

“ELF is cruelty-free. They do not test on animals. They also confirmed that they do not sell their products in China.” I found this. ELF is the brand that I use the most. I don’t particularly search for cruelty free but coincidentally a lot of the brands that I use are vegan friendly and do not test on animals.

My general rule for myself is not to spend more than $15 on one given product. The palette was $12.50, I believe. Most, if not all, of the eyeliners that I buy are less than $5. The concealer stick was from the dollar store for probably $1, at max maybe $3. I don’t spend a lot of money on foundation either, from ELF usually $5 to $8.

That’s amazing, thank you so much for letting me know. (I know personally sometimes I look for products that are animal-tested.)

I love adding bronzer to cheek contours! It helps to warm things up and also blend things out for more subtlety. You should do a makeup tutorial video and attach it to the next blog post! I would LOVE to see the process in action -so beautiful… with and without makeup!
